In some I/O-configurations (e.g. 3A4IO: 3 analog inputs, 4I/4O 24V) Ethernet can absolutely be used for independent controllers, more than ever if one more I/O-extension is added. In this case also a local scale can get interesting which displays the quantities, temperatures or weights or where you can choose compositions and events from a menu. ETH-A7L is the LCD-version of the ETH-A7 - with graphic display and function keys - in the same box.
This site is only about the extensions compared to the basis ETH-A7; so please look first at the ETH-A7-site.
Actually ethernode is the fast solution to be able to check in the intranet if the emergency backup generator has still diesel or if the door of the court is closed. But over the I/O and especially over the serial interfaces you can execute also complexer jobs, for example the control of an actor after the concentration of a dilution or a accesscontrol with RFID-reader and door opener. In this case a local display offers often a high additional benefit which can go on up to a autonomous control.
ETH-A7L is the LCD-version of ethernode ETH-A7. The 128x64 sized LCD-
Our firmware for the display support offers in addition to the mere display of numbers and text, of bar diagrams and x/y-curves also interactive functions like the request of a number for ammount- or temperaturadjustments or menu-choose function for compositions and events. The GetSelection-function is essential for small terminals without alpha numerical input: Over a list you can choose for example names for datas which are sent over the serial interface to a handling machine or you choose the kind of dough which has to be kneaded in the next hour or a job can be assigned to a weight fetched by the RS485.
